Direct Connection from Munsu, Yeoseo, Ungcheon, and Museon to Suncheon Station Without Transfers — Two Buses to Run 14 Trips Daily
Yeosu City (Mayor Seo Young-hak) announced that it will trial-run the metropolitan express bus ‘Olta 3001,’ which directly connects the Mipyeong, Yeomun, Ungcheon, and Museon living zones with Suncheon Station, from September 1 to December 31.
Olta 3001 departs from Mipyeong Elementary School and travels through Yeoseo, Munsu, Ungcheon, Seonso Bridge, Hak-dong, Museon, Sora, Yeosu Airport, Yulchon, Woljeon, Palma Sports Complex, and E-Mart before arriving at Suncheon Station. Its key feature is that it lets residents of the Yeomun, Ungcheon, and Museon living zones—which are not served by the existing Route 330—travel to Suncheon without transfers.
The city will operate two buses, running seven one-way trips from Mipyeong to Suncheon Station and seven from Suncheon Station to Mipyeong, for 14 one-way trips per day. The first buses depart Mipyeong and Suncheon Station at 7:00 a.m., while the last buses depart Mipyeong at 9:30 p.m. and Suncheon Station at 8:30 p.m.
As a metropolitan express bus, it stops at only 35 major stops in each direction. Stop locations by direction and detailed timetables are available on the Yeosu City website and the Bus Information System (BIS).
The buses will display ‘Olta 3001’ on their front LED destination signs, with express bus markings attached to the front and sides for easy route identification. During the trial period, the city plans to analyze ridership by time slot, on-time performance, and public feedback to determine the number of buses, schedule, and stops for 2027.
The fare is KRW 1,600 for adults using a standard transit card, with the same fare and transfer policies as Yeosu City’s existing city bus system applying — including a KRW 100 fare for teenagers, 20 free rides per month for seniors aged 75 and older, and one free transfer within one hour.
A city official stated, “We expect Olta 3001 to make commuting to work and school more convenient for residents.” The official added, “We will analyze ridership during the trial period and incorporate public feedback to establish it as a stable metropolitan transit route.”
