Revealed on the city’s website, 19 projects in 5 sectors include lowering real property tax rates, raising the compensation limit of the Citizen’s Safety Insurance, implementing the Yeosu Employment web service, and more

Yeosu City has revealed on its website the “Institutions and Policies Changing in the Second Half of 2021” that are closely connected to civic life.

The institutions and policies being changed in the second half of 2021 consist of 19 projects in the 5 sectors of ▲Employment-Economy (3), ▲Tourism-Culture-Education (2), ▲Welfare-Healthcare-Women (9), ▲Transportation-Construction-Environment (1), and ▲General Administration-Tax System (4).

First of all in the Employment-Economy sector, the financial institutions that are operating the Yeosu Love Gift Certificate will be expanded from 41 locations to 60 locations, which will make purchasing and exchanging gift certificates much more convenient. To promote investment attraction, Yeosu City is additionally supporting the information culture industry and the new energy industry, which is expected to further promote investment attraction.
With the implementation of the “Yeosu Employment” web service which provides integrated employment information for the Yeosu region, various information regarding employment and starting a business can easily be found via mobile.

In the Tourism-Culture-Education sector, the 55th Yeosu Geobuksun Ship Festival will be held in October as a safe hybrid festival combining online and offline due to COVID-19, and Yeosu Municipal Hyeonam Library, which has been transformed into a complex cultural space, will be reopened in late August to satisfy the various cultural-educational needs of the citizens.

In the Welfare-Healthcare-Women sector, Yeosu City will support 500,000 won scholarships to descendants of independence activists and provide 200,000 won worth of Career Connecting Vouchers per person for women who have experienced career disruption. It will also support IoT health and safety solution projects for the prevention of lonely deaths for old and middle-aged people as well as support the building of equity by extending the grace period of Raising Hope-Tomorrow Accounts by 6 months before they close due to expiration.
The Yeosu Youth Maritime Education Center, Joint Childcare Center, and the 5th Together Care Inarae Happiness Center will all open in the second half of 2021.

In the Transportation-Construction-Environment sector, the compensation limit for the Citizen’s Safety Insurance will be raised by 10,000,000 won to allow for compensation of up to 20,000,000 won for natural disasters, deaths, and stress disorders.

In the General Administration-Tax System sector, the real property tax rates for homes with a declared value of less than 600,000,000 won will be lowered by 0.05% for each section of the tax base, and the property tax reduction rate for Nice Landlords will be raised from 50% to 100% so that property taxes will be alleviated in proportion to the ratio of rent reduction starting with buildings in July. With the implementation of the reporting system of house rentals, contracts with a deposit over 60,000,000 won with a monthly rent of over 300,000 won must be reported to the Eup/Myun/Dong Community Service Center or to the Real Estate Trade Management System within 30 days.
